Mr Cameron Candy and Mr Daniel Candy displayed considerable bravery by their actions apprehending an armed offender in Minchinbury, New South Wales on 21 August 2020.

At approximately 10:00pm, Mr Cameron Candy (aged 16) and his brother, Mr Daniel Candy (aged 13) were finishing a shift at a pizza shop when a man entered through the rear door. He pointed a firearm at the brothers and the store manager, and demanded money.

As the store manager hurried towards the cash register, Cameron threw a container of bleach at the offender, which caused him to drop the firearm.

The offender ran outside through the rear door, and Cameron followed him and tackled him to the ground with the assistance of Daniel who punched the offender.

The offender fought back, got up, and ran about 10 metres. Cameron and Daniel chased after him, and again tackled him to the ground. They restrained him until police arrived shortly after and took him into custody.
